The story behind Barkan´s patented Easy Tilt technology: Barkan had been seeking a no tools solution that would allow free movement in the user´s search for the ultimate viewing angle. We tested countless types of friction pads from plastic to steel. None of them ultimately met Barkan´s exacting standards. One day one of our engineers asked a very simple question "Which material used in our daily life has a very high friction coefficient?" After a few moments of silence he answered: "friction pads in the brakes of the car you drive". We put them in our tilt mechanism and now you can tilt the screen at any angle and count on the "brake pads" to hold the screen in perfect viewing position. Barkan registered a world patent on this technology.
