SDI and HD-SDI + DVI = Resourceful System Integration Possibilities
Serial and high-definition digital video transmitted through SDI (serial definition interface) connectors, used extensively in broadcast and pro a/v industries, now connects to digital displays equipped with DVI (Digital Video Interface) connectors. The unit accepts video in NTSC, PAL and SMPTE formats, intuitively converts it to the proper digital RGB or high-definition resolution for the display and transmits to the display via DVI.
Compatibility
Digital, LCD (automatic scaling), plasma and HDTV (no scaling) displays and projectors using DVI Video source devices that output using SDI and HD-SDI.
How it Works
To install, you input one or two SDI video sources using supplied cabling, then connect the Adapter to a display via DVI. Once supplied with power and fully connected, the SDI to DVI Adapter converts incoming SDI and HD-SDI signals to DVI in a seamless transmission that takes place continuously behind the scenes. It intuitively detects the input scan rate and outputs the proper resolution and frame rate for the display (no scaling on HDTV, automatic scaling on LCD).
