The updated MI 2005 Network Isolator is now engineered to connect with modern WLAN routers supporting transmission rates of up to 2.5 Gbit/s. A key advantage is its compatibility with existing network infrastructure, specifically Cat6 cabling. Compliant with the requirements of DIN EN 60601-1 (Edition 3.2), it provides two independent Means of Patient Protection (2 MOPP), making it ideally suited for standard-compliant galvanic isolation of Ethernet-based signal interfaces within patient environments. Additionally, the MI 2005 features Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and lightning protection capabilities, safeguarding connected devices and users from overvoltages caused by lightning strikes, electrostatic discharges, and similar electrical disturbances.


The MI 2005 Network Isolator can serve as an accessory or component within medical electrical devices or systems. In less than five seconds, it safeguards patients, users, and equipment from hazardous leakage currents transmitted via the data network.

Under stress conditions, the MI 2005 isolator has been tested to withstand isolation strengths of up to 5 kV AC for 60 seconds. Furthermore, it easily meets the requirements for electrostatic discharge, handling 8 kV contact discharge and 16 kV air discharge with ease.
