The Baaske Medical MI-2005 Network Isolator provides galvanic isolation for Ethernet connections in patient environments and other electrically sensitive applications. Designed for modern networks, it supports data transmission rates up to 2.5 Gbit/s (2.5GBase-T) and is fully compatible with existing Cat6 cabling, allowing seamless integration without infrastructure changes.
The MI-2005 is engineered to comply with IEC 60601-1 (Edition 3.2) and IEC 60601-1-2 medical safety and EMC standards. It provides two Means of Patient Protection (2 MOPP), helping to protect patients, users, and connected equipment from hazardous leakage currents that may be introduced through Ethernet networks.
In addition to patient protection, the MI-2005 offers robust electrostatic discharge (ESD) and surge protection, and has been type tested to withstand 5 kV AC for 60 seconds. These characteristics ensure reliable electrical isolation in demanding medical, laboratory, industrial, server, and professional audio environments.
The compact, passive design requires no drivers and no external power supply. Installation is simple and non-invasive: the isolator is inserted inline into existing Ethernet cabling.
