FireNEX-U4F20G USB4 Fiber Repeater | 700m USB 5Gbps / 300m USB 10Gbps

USB4 fiber repeater with 2× USB-A 10Gbps ports. Extends USB 5Gbps to 700m or USB 10Gbps to 300m over OS2 duplex LC single-mode fiber.

Newnex FireNEX™-U4F20G is a high-performance USB fiber optic repeater built for long-distance USB connectivity in environments where copper cables fail fast or fail loudly (EMI, ground noise, distance limits, all the classics).

For host systems equipped with a USB4 or Thunderbolt USB-C port, the Local Unit transmits USB over EMI-free single-mode fiber to a Remote Unit that provides two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10Gbps) ports for device connectivity. The system supports up to 20Gbps aggregate bandwidth across the fiber link.

Distance depends on USB speed (important)

FireNEX-U4F20G is optimized for two common high-speed USB tiers, and the maximum distance changes depending on which one your device negotiates:

  • USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps): up to 700 meters
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps): up to 300 meters

That means you can push significantly farther for 5Gbps-class devices, while still achieving true long-run performance for 10Gbps devices.

Host stability and compatibility

The upstream USB-C port on the Local Unit supports hot-plug operation, designed to help avoid host reboots if the fiber link is disconnected or if the Remote Unit loses power.

The system uses native USB drivers and works with Windows, macOS, and Linux. It remains backward compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0/1.1 devices, while requiring a USB4 or Thunderbolt host for the upstream connection.

Key advantages

Real Distance at Real USB Speeds

Run USB devices hundreds of meters: up to 700m at 5Gbps or 300m at 10Gbps over OS2 fiber.

Two 10Gbps Device Ports

Remote unit provides two USB-A 10Gbps ports for high-speed peripherals and adapters.

EMI Immunity by Design

Fiber link avoids the noise and interference that wrecks long copper USB runs in industrial spaces.

Host Compatibility Where It Counts

Designed for modern USB4/Thunderbolt hosts while staying backward compatible with older USB devices.

Operationally Friendlier

Hot-plug behavior is intended to help maintain stability if the fiber link is unplugged or remote power drops.

Built for Pro Deployments

USB3 Vision compliance, rugged aluminum housings, and defined power budgets make procurement and installs easier.
