The Opticis DPAX is a DisplayPort 1.2 data recovery repeater designed to extend the usable distance of DisplayPort video connections by regenerating and stabilizing the signal between long cable runs or extender segments. It enables reliable transmission of 4K UHD (4096×2160) at 60Hz over longer combined cable lengths while maintaining signal integrity for high-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 links.
When used with standard DisplayPort copper cables, DPAX supports extended total distances such as:
- Up to 8m (26ft) total at DP 1.2 (3m from source + 5m to display)
- Up to 15m (49ft) total at DP 1.1 (5m from source + 10m to display)
DPAX is especially designed to integrate seamlessly with Opticis fiber-optic DisplayPort extenders and active optical cables, allowing system designers to push DisplayPort signals even farther in complex installations. It supports auxiliary channel communication, Multi-Stream Transport (MST), and full DisplayPort 1.2 bandwidth up to 21.6Gbps (5.4Gbps per lane).
The compact inline form factor makes DPAX easy to install in tight AV racks, behind displays, or inside equipment enclosures. It can be powered via USB or an optional 5V DC adapter, providing flexible power options for different installation environments.
