Opticis MVDF Multi-Format Wall Plate Converter | DVI, VGA, S-Video, Composite to Fiber DVI 500m

The Opticis MVDF is a single-gang, multi-format wall plate converter designed to accept DVI, VGA, S-Video, and Composite video inputs and convert the active source into a single optical DVI output for long-distance transmission over fiber.

The MVDF automatically detects the first active input signal and converts it to uncompressed DVI, transmitting video up to 500 meters (1,640 ft) over one SC-terminated multimode fiber with zero compression and zero latency. At the display end, an Opticis DVFX-100-RX receiver converts the optical DVI signal back into standard electrical DVI for connection to monitors or projectors.

For legacy video sources, the MVDF intelligently scales Composite and S-Video inputs (480i / 576i) up to SXGA (1280×1024) at 60Hz, while maintaining native resolution for DVI and VGA sources. This ensures compatibility across mixed-format AV systems commonly found in medical facilities, control rooms, and presentation environments.

The compact 1-gang wall plate form factor eliminates the need for bulky external converters and loose copper cabling behind displays or podiums. Two front-panel LED indicators provide quick visual confirmation of power and input signal status, while Self-EDID management ensures stable resolution negotiation with connected displays. Firmware can be updated via the front mini USB port to support customized or unique display environments.
